In a Sentence: Outstanding service, a relaxed atmosphere and some of the best food in Shanghai
   
Our Review: NOTE: 239 closed in January 2007.

In the space of the old Divino restaurant, 239 has burst onto the Shanghai food scene with outstanding service, a relaxed atmosphere and some of the best food in Shanghai. To top it off, 239 also pours probably the best (albeit at 80RMB) dry vodka martini in town. SInce we have been here numerous times and have tried almost everything on the menu, we will only list our absolute favorites which include:

- Veal Carpaccio
- Braised Lamb Leg
- Asparagus

Additionally, 239's wine list is a bit more international (i.e. Chile, South Africa, Australia) than the traditional French/US dominated lists elsewhere around town. We tried South Africa's Fleur du Cap Chardonnay (225RMB), which was a perfect compliment to the food.
