In a Sentence: Beautiful view from the 2nd floor bar inside People's Park..

Our Review: Barbarossa Lounge, located in Shanghai People's Park and a 2 minute walk from the People's Park Metro station, is one of Shanghai's best, and most accessible, lounges. Barbarossa Lounge also boasts a beautiful view of People’s Park and the surrounding skyscrapers from its 2nd floor bar.

Our favorite times to go are any night it's comfortable to be outside. The place is always jumping with beautiful people, and can get a bit crazy on weekends. If you don't like big crowds, then check out Barbarossa during the week, when it's a tad more relaxing and at times, even romantic - especially if you start or end your evening with a leisurely walk though the park.

The only downside we experienced were the bartenders with attitude (who, we have been told by management, have been replaced by a friendlier and more professional crew). On one occasion, we were served a dry martini in one of those odd shaped margarita glasses with the wide top and narrow bottom instead of a traditional martini glass.

All in all, Barbarossa Lounge is still one our favorites places to grab a drink in Shanghai, and if you haven't been here yet, we highly recommend it.

Best Drink: A glass of wine (and don't order the martini).
