  Shanghai Eats Editorial Review

In a Sentence: Eat+Drink calls Bellagio/Charmant's hand and raises with beer and mixed drinks by the pitcher.

Our Review: Located in the former Salt & Pepper space, Eat + Drink serves up tasty snack and main dishes in Taiwanese and Chinese style, including mountainous iced desserts that are impossible to pass up. Eat + Drink aims to attract a beer garden crowd with specials on pitchers of beer and mixed vodka and soju concoctions. With over 160 dishes on the menu, we've been there several times already and never had the same thing twice, except for the dessert of course. A great place to go with friends.

Our favorites:

  • Braised Chinese pork with preserved vegetables.
  • Taiwanese frittata - a fluffy omelet with pickly bits.
  • The Ball & Chain - great cold dish if you aren't afraid of interesting meats (tendon and tripe).
  • The peanut ice smoothie - a classic, but try the black forest for something new.

Best Dish: Three cup chicken - so tender.
