If you don't do yourself the honor of dining at Jade on 36 (set menus start at 480 RMB), then do the next best thing - enjoy a drink at Jade on 36's bar - located right next to the Pudong Shangri-La's signature restaurant.
We prefer this place over Cloud 9 (located on the top floor of the Hyatt) simply because the views of the Bund and the Pearl TV Tower are much more intense than the more distanced views from inside Cloud 9. At Jade on 36 Bar, you feel like you are sitting right on top of the Pearl TV Tower and the Bund, whereas Cloud 9's view almost feel like you are flying over Shanghai in an airplane.
The design of the bar is also memorable, as the actual bar has been designed inside of a jewel box, which encases the bar, with the customers sitting at the bar being the "jewels".
Jade on 36 Bar is another must for out of towners or locals wanting to enjoy a cocktail with the best view of the Bund and Pudong skyline.
