Housed in the same building as Cameo's Xujiahui location, Oriental is Shanghai's first Burmese restaurant serving a variety of Indochine dishes.
Using fresh ingredients and a variety of herbs, Oriental highlights three cuisines : Myanmar (Burmese), with its pungent fish products, brings dishes like Mo Hin Gar, a fish stock and noodle soup. Next is Thai, rich in spice and delectable curries. And finally, Vietnamese, with its French infusion and lighter dishes, like soft shell crab. Its variety of food and large selection of international wines makes Oriental a great option for lunch or dinner.
Oriental's decor fuses South East Asian colonial styles, stressing wood and warm lighting. A blend of western and traditional Asian music completes the atmosphere while the outdoor patio setting provides a perfect setting to eat while watching the world go by.
Oriental's signature dishes include:
- Myanmar – Mo Hin Gar (Rich fish based soup)
- Myanmar – Kyettar Seebyan ( Braised chicken in chili oil)
- Thailand – Trio taste Fish (Deep-fried whole fish with trio flavor sauce)
- Thailand – Tom Yam Goong Soup (Hot & Sour seafood soup)
