In a Sentence: If you plan on partying at Attica, head here for a delectable dinner first.

Our Review: It’s a rarity when the newest, hippest nightclub in town also opens a restaurant within the same venue that is actually worth visiting.

And it is our pleasure to let all of you know that the folks at Attica (the new kid on the Bund) have pulled off the unthinkable with the opening of Finestre – which combines dynamic views of the Bund and Pudong skylines with upscale dining and a playful atmosphere.

Not only are the views mesmerizing from the main dining room cupola, but the food served up by Chef Sean Jorgensen also competes for your attention. Finestre is not just another “pretty face” with a great view and is worth visiting even if you have no desire to dance the night away next door at Attica.

For our meal, we sampled dishes that are currently on the menu, as well as some that are being added in the “near future” including:

  • Peppercorn seared tuna paired with Campari cured salmon – a light, yet delicious combination that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
  • Dandelion honey glazed duck set on spice roasted apple – this was another fantastic dish with the combination of the warm apple complimenting the duck perfectly.
  • Tomato & feta cheese napoleon topped with orange grapefruit sorbet server with basil oil and cabernet syrup – probably our favorite dish of the evening. If you love tomatoes and feta cheese (who doesn’t?) then do yourself a favor and order this to start..
  • Braised beef short rib over rosemary potato risotto with sauce romesco. You won’t need a knife as the short ribs simply shred on their own. Highly recommended.
  • Eggplant stuffed spinach ravioli with sauce sofrito – the pasta is homemade daily, but either we were too stuffed from everything that came before this dish or were too busy thinking ahead to dessert.

For dessert, the creme brulée and a dish dubbed Velvet Elvis (a combination of a decadent chocolate brownie and bananas) are two perfect ways to end your meal before partying the night away next door.

Surprisingly, prices at Finestre are also slightly lower than their counterparts along the Bund. Expect to pay 90-120rmb for appetizers and 180-240rmb for main courses.
