Restaurateur Kathleen Lau's fifth Shanghai restaurant fuses the historic with the modern. Set on the roof of the 1934 British Racing Club building, under the famous clock tower, Kathleen's 5 features a modern interior and our favorite, a rooftop deck that provides wonderful views of People's Park and Nanjing Xi Lu.
In the summer months, the temperature outside on the deck seems to be just a bit cooler than the ground below, providing temporary relief from Shanghai's stifling Summer.
The food is predominantly Western/Fusion cuisine and includes appetizers, salads, pastas, and traditional entrees such as salmon, halibut, and rack of lamb.
