| Shanghai has 30,000 restaurants, so there are bound to be more than a few that could be deemed best for a date. There is no possible way we could include every contender in this category, so we have included a partial list of our favorite places we'd most likely take a date. |
| |
 | | Laris Of all the places on the Bund we'd most likely take a date, our favorite is Laris. Unlike many of its Bund neighbors that have noisy dining rooms, this place has a subdued elegance with some of the best service in Shanghai. | | | | | | | La Na Thai Romance oozes from La Na Thai from the moment you enter the Ruijin Guest House compound until you are seated at your table. The only reason we wouldn't recommend La Na Thai is if your date isn't in the mood for Thai food. | | | | | | | The Door Located in Hongqiao, the Door is a romantic restaurant located on the third floor of an old Tudor mansion. Antique furniture, including Buddha statues, silk wallpapers, as well as Míng Dynasty tables and chairs, provide a unique ambience. | | | | | | | Tandoor The food may not be as good as other Indian restaurants in town, but when it comes to impressing your date, you will be hard pressed to find a more romantic dining room in Shanghai. | | | | |
