| The Mexican food in Shanghai can be summarized by the 1 hour wait for a table when the first Taco Bell (Grande) opened on Nanjing Lu. People want it, but the restaurants listed here are more of what’s available than the Best of Shanghai. And an even bigger problem for us is the fact that living in Southern California for almost 20 years set a standard that is hard to beat.

 | | Mexico Lindo The best Mexican food in Shanghai - although that isn't saying much. | | | | | | | Taco Popo (Tongren Lu) Great after boozing all night on Tongren Lu. Cheap eats, open pretty late into the night. | | | | | | | Zapata's Mexican Cantina Far better for drinks and Wednesday nights - when ladies night packs the place to the rafters. | | | | |
